J. F. H. M. (John) Knevels RB

John Knevels joined Van Oers as a tax lawyer at in 1985, helped set up Van Oers Corporate Finance and became a member of the board for Van Oers’s tax division in 1990. In this capacity he is based in the Breda office where he gives tax advice to clients from a wide variety of sectors. To become an even better sparring partner for clients, John Knevels successfully completed the Supervisory Director programme at Nyenrode Business University in 2008, to supplement his previous studies: Federation Tax Advisor course at the Nederlandse Federatie van Belastingadviseurs (1988) and a Register Valuator course at the Rotterdam School of Management (2000).

‘I have grown together with Van Oers and especially with my clients: businesspeople and their companies. I still work for a large group of clients from the days when I joined Van Oers. Deep mutual trust is the basis for a long-term relationship: placing trust in each other and earning each other’s trust. In addition to giving tax advice to my clients, I assist them in making strategic decisions.’

‘To be able to advise businesses properly, I want to really get to know them. That is why invest in our relationship, for example by getting a bite to eat, visiting social events or by doing things together with them. I once even ran the half marathon with a client across the Øresund bridge between Copenhagen (Denmark) and Malmö (Sweden) after it had just been opened. Sports are my outlet as it were. I alternate going to the gym with cycling and running: it keeps me fit and healthy.’
